Controls Direct is expanding its sensing and monitoring portfolio with Setra Systems solutions for critical environments, healthcare facilities, laboratories, cleanrooms and data centres.

The addition of Setra provides Controls Direct customers with access to specialised solutions for applications where pressure, environmental conditions, energy use and critical room status need to be accurately monitored and integrated with building management systems.

Critical Room Monitoring

Maintaining the correct pressure relationship between rooms is an important part of the environmental control strategy in areas such as isolation rooms, operating theatres, laboratories, cleanrooms and other controlled environments.

The Setra range allows the monitoring solution to be selected according to the requirements of the space.

Setra Lite

Setra Lite provides clear visual indication of room pressure status for applications that require a simple and easily understood local indication.

Its electronic differential-pressure measurement and BMS output make it particularly useful where traditional mechanical pressure indication is being replaced or where room pressure information needs to be integrated into the building management system.

Setra SRCM

For applications requiring more detailed monitoring, the SRCM provides touchscreen room-condition monitoring with BACnet connectivity.

It can monitor two rooms and incorporate additional environmental parameters, allowing pressure and other conditions to be presented locally while also integrating with the BMS.

Setra FLEX

For larger or more sophisticated critical environments, Setra FLEX acts as an environmental monitoring hub.

A single FLEX can monitor multiple spaces and parameters including pressure, temperature, humidity and air-change information, with additional sensor information incorporated where required.

This provides a platform for applications where critical environmental information needs to be visible locally while also forming part of the wider building control system.

Particle and Environmental Monitoring

Critical environments increasingly require more than differential-pressure measurement alone.

Controls Direct will also support Setra solutions for particle monitoring, temperature and humidity sensing, differential-pressure measurement and continuous environmental monitoring.

These technologies can be combined to provide a broader view of conditions within healthcare facilities, laboratories and other controlled environments.

Data Centre Monitoring

The Setra portfolio also provides several monitoring technologies applicable to modern data centres.

Applications include:

• hot-aisle and cold-aisle pressure monitoring
• underfloor and plenum pressure
• CRAC and CRAH airflow control
• filter differential pressure
• temperature and humidity monitoring
• branch-circuit energy monitoring

Controls Direct is developing dedicated data-centre solutions combining Setra and Gems sensing technologies for both air-cooled and liquid-cooled environments.

Liquid Cooling and CDU Instrumentation

As higher-density computing drives greater adoption of liquid cooling, the instrumentation requirements around Coolant Distribution Units are becoming increasingly important.

Controls Direct is developing a CDU sensing portfolio covering applications including:

• flow
• liquid level
• temperature
• system alarms and monitoring

The objective is to help designers, manufacturers and integrators select compatible sensing technologies as part of the complete CDU monitoring strategy.

Australian Technical and Project Support

Controls Direct will support the Setra range with product selection, BMS integration assistance and application support for Australian projects.
